Yakima County Superior Court is recruiting for a Program Representative. This position plans, develops, and implements procedures to coordinate and assign the daily activities, judicial resources and other related resources with the caseload in Superior Court.

Acts as a liaison between the judges, attorneys, and other governmental agencies in coordinating the daily caseload and trial activities of Superior Court. Coordinates calendar-related activities of the Court Administrator’s Office staff in case settings, trials, judicial assignments, and reassignments.
Compiles, prepares, and distributes daily calendar assignments to Superior Court judicial officers, internal staff, other departments and offices.
Coordinates judicial schedules including training, leave, chamber time, visiting judges and other special events in the court. Provides technical information to pro se litigants, attorneys and other associated law and justice agencies regarding the process, policies, and procedures of the Superior Court.
Prepares complex reports and assignments on complicated and intricate cases.
Plans, drafts or updates and implements procedures within the Court Administrator’s Office and makes recommendations to the Court Director regarding changes to procedures for improved efficiencies.
Performs a variety of detailed statistical informational reports for Court Director and Presiding Judge.
Coordinates calendar dates, prepares, sends, and mails notices to parties, receives confirmation of criminal, civil, domestic and paternity cases as well as other case types, performs other support duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
Associate Degree or two-year technical certificate in General Office and Legal Business Practices AND two (2) years of legal or court experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides knowledge, skills, and abilities sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
Valid WA State Driver’s license and proof of insurance, if requested
Successful completion of a general employment verification.
Working knowledge of MS WORD and EXCEL, keyboarding of 30 WPM
Working knowledge of desktop publishing tools
Experience with JIS/SCOMIS/Odyssey
Desktop computer, telephone, fax machine, copy machine, electric hole punch, stapler, calculator, cell phone, laptop.
This position is the key lead position in the Court Administrator’s Office. There are specific daily deadlines on work performed and a higher level of responsibility with this position. This position is the direct liaison between the Superior Court judges and the case participants. This position fields inquiries from the public who may be hostile, at times.
Environment: travel and multiple work locations.
Physical Demands: bending, carrying, handling, lifting, pulling, pushing. reaching, sitting, standing, walking, fingering, crouching, hearing, talking, and visual acuity.
Intellectual Demands: ability to multitask, confidentiality, ability to work under pressure, ability to articulate and communicate information in conversations, ability to follow written instruction, and ability to follow verbal instruction.
This position is rated as Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for Sedentary Work and the worker sits most of the time.
