Human Resources Director
The Yakima Herald-Republic is looking for an experienced Human Resources Director with a track record in all aspects of HR management, especially labor and employee relations and payroll/benefits administration.
As a key member of the Herald-Republic's executive team, the Human Resources Director assists the Publisher in setting and achieving long-range organization and workforce goals.
This is a hands-on job that requires leading and directing payroll administration, employee benefits, compliance, safety programs, performance management, internal communications and training.
Experience negotiating collective bargaining agreements with labor unions is preferred.
The HR Director must be a highly effective communicator, negotiator and conciliator able to work with a diverse group of individuals representing all sectors of the labor workforce.
The Herald-Republic, which is the largest media company in Central Washington, is also a manufacturing company that prints and distributes publications for numerous clients in the Pacific Northwest. We are part of the family-owned Seattle Times Co. of affiliated newspapers.
A Bachelor's degree is required as well as at least five years of progressive HR management experience. SHRM certification is preferred but not required.
